Amsterdam being really shirtless-friendly, it's no surprise that I saw quite a number of shirtless guys when I was there, more than I ever saw in Paris and even London. Obviously Amsterdamers have no problem showing up shirtless in all sorts of public places, and you will see many are *true* barechesters, as they obvioulsy leave the shirt at home and go everywhere unshirted with no way to back up, just a I usually do.
You will see that a majority of my pics were taken outdoors, as it's not always convenient to take a pic of somebody in an indoors public place, but the proportion of shirtless guys was just as high indoors as outdoors, believe me. Actually, I saw guys putting a shirt back on before entering a public place just a couple of times in ten days. Others just went on their way and came in shirtless, just because they had no shirt to put on in the first place, as true barechesters always should.

Three good ones to start with : two at the supermarket and one in the tram. And two out of three are true barechesters ;-)

By the way, who said ladies don't like their men unshirted ?

My buddy Stefan from Amsterdam. Actually, Stefan is more a barefooter than a barechester. But we had a good time together, walking down the streets and along the canals both barefoot and shirtless. And ended the afternoon with some relaxing and enjoying the sun on the roof of the New Metropolis. | ![]() |

Shirtless on boats or on bikes, quite a commonplace sight around Amsterdam. And even better when you do it as a team with some equally shirtless friends, don't you think ? |

At the Central Station. Quite a number of guys walked around the station and boarded their trains shirtless. And if they had shirts in their bags, almost none felt the urge to put one back on.

Shirtless guys everywhere. Boarding the tram, splish-splashing in a park or just going around their business on the street. And remarkably few with the "safety shirt" in sight ;-)
